DEDICATED TO FREEING NOSES

This quest for easier breathing began in 1961, when Dr. Helmut Fruhstorfer and Dr. Helmut Muller-Cargan, two German scientists working at Merck labs in the German city of Darmstadt, synthesised the active ingredient in iliadin^® – a new substance called oxymetazoline. This new ingredient proved to be an effective decongestant for the nasal mucosa to free the nose, and would later become the key ingredient in the iliadin^® range of nasal decongestants.

OXYMETAZOLINE BLASTS OFF

When the United States of America sent astronauts to the moon in 1969, NASA astronauts took one nasal decongestant along for the ride: one containing iliadin^®’s active ingredient, oxymetazoline. The event proved to be a major honour for iliadin^®.

iliadin^®’s mission to unblock noses didn’t stop with astronauts – or even with adults.
